Phase 1 clinical trial of gene therapy for Haemophilia A using lentiviral vector transduced autologous haematopoietic stem cells initiated by at the Christian Medical College, Vellore with first subject treated in June, 2022. Cell processing done at the cGMP facility of the Centre for Stem Cell Research. This is perhaps first time in the world that a first-in-human cutting-edge biotechnology-based therapeutic has been used in India.
