iPSC Workshop 2019

Centre for Stem Cell Research (CSCR) conducted its second Human induced Pluripontent Stem Cells (iPSC) workshop Brochure in February 2019 for a period of 6 days from 18th to 23rd.

The workshop involved hand-on-training and lectures by

  • Odity Mukherjee, Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), Bengaluru,
  • Maneesha Inamdar, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru
  • Sivaprakash Ramalingam, Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), New Delhi
  • Gurbind Singh, Centre for Stem Cell Research, Tamil Nadu
  • R.V. Shaji, Centre for Stem Cell Research, Tamil Nadu

Eleven research scholars from different research institutes all over India were selected to participate in the program.

The workshop objectives were to provide knowledge and training in:

  • Various steps involved in the derivation of iPSCs
  • Cryopreservation
  • Thawing of iPSC cell line
  • Expansion and passaging in feeder-free conditions
  • Characterization of iPSC by using various molecular biology techniques such as RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, immunofluorescence, Flow cytometry.
  • Embryoid body formation
  • Differentiation of iPSC into endoderm mesoderm ectoderm lineages.
